McKenna was born in Washington, D.C. and moved to Mexico City with her family when she was five. Her love of acting began while performing in Spanish for her school plays. She moved back to the U.S. to attend high school in Nashville, TN. She graduated from college in New York City from Fordham University at Lincoln Center. She is a member of the Theatre Performance Class of 2020. Upon graduating, she signed with Forte Artist Management.

McKenna is now an Equity NYC-based actor. Her Off-Broadway debut was in the Mint Theatre Company's production of The Mountains Look Different which received a NYT Critic's Pick. Her second Off-Broadway show was in William Mastrosimone's new play Rules of Desire where she originated the role of Felicia.


Beyond New York, McKenna has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland and, upon returning to Mexico City to study abroad, she shot a pilot for the telenovela La Promesa at Patricia Reyes Spindola's MM Studio.
